Goal Creation Step 3 by Francis Bills

You’ve completed Step 1 by deciding what you truly want, specifying it in detail and writing it down on paper.

You’ve completed Step 2 by writing down a list of all of your ideas and ways in which you can accomplish your goal and you’ve used these ideas to write out a plan of action.

So now you’re ready for Step 3:

3) Visualize and emotionalize the feeling state of what you want to be or have.

I spoke briefly about visualization in Step 1 to help with defining exactly what you want as you were writing out your goals.

Now I would like to go a little bit more in-depth about the importance of visualizing and putting emotional energy into your goals and what you want.

Let me provide an example of the importance of visualization in defining what you want.

Let’s say that your goal was to have a new car or truck.

Think for a minute of a car or a truck.

You probably came up with many different types, styles, sizes and models.

Now think about a cherry red Lamborghini with tan leather interior.

This example indicates the difference between having a vague, undefined goal and a specifically defined goal.

If we don’t specify exactly what we want, we’ll end up with things that we didn’t ask for. This is why many people only reach a few of their goals and not all of them.

They weren’t specific. They didn’t define, specify and visualize exactly what they want.

You must be able to picture having something before you can create it.

If you’re not that good at visualizing, you can use the internet, books or magazines to help you to visualize what you want. Some people use the pictures to create vision boards to assist with their visualizing and goal attainment.

Use whatever method works best for you but ensure that you have a clearly defined image of what you want.

In conjunction with visualization is the practice of emotionalizing your vision and getting into the feeling state of the achievement of your goal.

This is called the “essence” or the feeling state of the wish fulfilled.

Whatever the feeling state of the desired goal is, live FROM that state of being. Hold this state of mind AS you reach your goals.

For example, if the goal is to have more money and you think that having more money will give you inner peace, live FROM inner peace.

Don’t wait or withhold your good until you have the thing you want. Express the thing you want now, AS you reach your goals.

Q. So how do I emotionalize my vision?

A. Place your energy, focus, attention and interest in exuding the quality of the wish fulfilled or the goal achieved.

Keep, hold and maintain that burning desire to be, do or have that in which you truly want.

You create excitement and emotionalize your vision by thinking of your goal frequently, intensely and with positive expectancy.

Keep your intentions clear and laser-focused on what you want.

Don’t try to force it and don’t think about when, where or how it’s coming.

Just say, “Thank You”. This is the Law of Acceptance.

So that’s it for STEP 3.

Tomorrow I’ll go over STEP 4, the final step for goal attainment.

Thank you,

Francis Bills
